From lax straight to cdg, follow our lead curator, Gab waller, on her 48 hours in paris.

April 2022

Don't leave without

My favourite The Row black coat that I sourced a few years ago. I’m unable to get any wear out of it with the warmer weather here in LA, so I was very excited to pull it out for this trip. It is a forever piece and a staple in my wardrobe.

On the flight

Although I tried (and failed!) to disconnect and stay offline, I couldn’t resist connecting to the wifi and catching up on some work. I flew out on a Sunday LA time, so it was a great opportunity to catch up on emails.

Touch Down

Freshened up! I headed straight for my hotel and as my room wasn’t yet ready (I touched down nice and early), I got to freshen up in the beautiful Dior spa that they have at the Plaza Athénée - a nice little way to kick off the trip!

"The CC logo runway heels (in all four heights) have been an immediate hit this season and already one of our most requested"

Rest up

Plaza Athénée. It has been a dream of mine to stay at this hotel. My most recent trips (pre COVID), I would always head to the hotel for their breakfast. It is my favourite breakfast in Paris. The croissants, their hot chocolates! My mouth is watering simply thinking about it!

The Must See

The all new Dior flagship on Avenue Montaigne. It left me speechless! Featuring two floors of every category that you can imagine, plus a restaurant and cafe.

"I tried on a couple of pieces for the show but I couldn’t get past their spring summer jumpsuit. The fabric is incredible with the perfect amount of stretch to it. I also couldn’t say no to those back details!"

Oui, Source it

The all new Chanel Spring Summer 2022 collection launched the week that I landed, so that was my first sourcing stop of the trip. The CC logo runway heels (in all x4 heights) have been an immediate hit this season and already one of our most requested.

Past and present

I love heading to Paris in the cooler months to be able to play around with my winter fashion a little more. That isn’t something that I have been able to previously do in Australia, nor now in LA. Being able to bring out all my coats and play around with layering has always been something that I’ve felt excited about. I definitely felt a buzz in the air being there this time around, seeing so much activity outside and so many familiar faces again - I already can’t wait to get back!
